Bridgetown Film Festival Regulations 2009 Call for entries

The Bridgetown Film Festival 2009 will be held from 10 - 14 June at Ocean Spray Apartments, Inch Marlow, Christ Chrurch, Barbados. The festival seeks to bring unique cinema from local, regional and international filmmakers to worldwide audiences. The festival is primarily looking for fresh and interesting independent films from Barbados, the Caribbean, the African diaspora and beyond.
All films must be shot in English or subtitled in English. Applications must state the category or genre of the film being entered. We currently accept work in the following categories:
- Animation
- Documentary
- Experimental
- Feature
- Music Video
- Short Film(must be less than 59 minutes in length)
- There is no submission fee.
- The deadline for submissions to the 2009 Bridgetown Film Festival is 11 May 2009. All film copies should reach the Festival office no later than 22 May 2009. Filmmakers wishing to submit work after this deadline must first seek the permission of the Bridgetown Film Festival Director. - All productions submitted to the Bridgetown Film Festival must be NTSC only and be on one of the following formats: Beta SP, DVD, Mini DV, VHS and 35mm.
- The Bridgetown Film Festival Committee reserves the right to determine the eligibility of any film or video production to be screened at the Bridgetown Film Festival. Unfinished works i.e. rough cuts will not be eligible, unless completed by May 2009.
- All productions submitted to the Bridgetown Film Festival that qualify for screening during the festival will be used strictly for the purposes of the festival which could include single or multiple screening(s), and promotion of the festival.
- Promotion will include, but is not limited to, press advertising and coverage, television and radio interviews and advertisements, and postings on www.thebridgetownfilmfestival.com.
- All qualified film and video productions submitted to the Bridgetown Film Festival are required to provide:
- a synopsis of 50 words or less about the production or press kit if available
- the list of cast and crew
- a small photograph representing the production along with PR material
- trailer of the film submitted would be welcomed
